Soft Tissue Mobilization and Cupping

At Movement Redefined, we use advanced manual therapy techniques—like soft tissue mobilization and cupping—to help relieve pain, improve movement, and accelerate your recovery process.

Whether you're managing a chronic issue, recovering from an injury, or feeling limited by muscle tension and stiffness, these hands-on therapies can make a big difference in how your body feels and functions.

What Is Soft Tissue Mobilization?

Soft tissue mobilization is a targeted, hands-on technique that works to release restrictions in muscles, fascia, and connective tissue. Utilizing hands on treatment, as well as the use of tools, these techniques help your various layers of tissue get moving. Unlike a general massage, this approach is goal-oriented and clinically driven, aiming to:

  • Break up adhesions and scar tissue

  • Improve tissue quality, tension, and elasticity

  • Restore normal muscle and joint mechanics

  • Reduce pain and improve flexibility

We use a variety of techniques—including deep pressure, instrument-assisted/scraping, massage gun/percussive therapy, and cupping/myofascial decompression—to treat areas of restriction and dysfunction based on your specific needs.

What Is Cupping Therapy?

Cupping therapy, also known as myofascial decompression, uses negative pressure (suction) to lift and separate the layers of skin, fascia, and muscle. This creates space for increased blood flow, lymphatic drainage, and tissue hydration—promoting healing and relieving tension.

Cupping can help:

  • Release muscle tightness, tension, and trigger points

  • Reduce inflammation and swelling

  • Improve circulation and tissue recovery

  • Ease chronic pain and post-exercise soreness

You may notice light circular marks after treatment—this is a normal part of the healing response and typically fades within a few days.
